There are ever increasing types of counselling and therapy on offer so if you are thinking about counselling for the first time it may seem daunting.
Person centred counselling is a simple but very effective method of helping a person with whatever difficulty they are facing.
At the heart of person centred counselling is the belief that a genuine relationship between the counsellor and their client is of paramount significance.
People have an inner, natural, intuitive knowledge about themselves and given a safe, non- judgmental, understanding relationship with a counsellor they can be helped to understand themselves more fully.
Every person is unique therefore I hope to work in a way that is most beneficial and comfortable for each person. I am holistic in nature as I believe all aspects of a person have equal significance; mind, body and soul.
I offer both long term and short term counselling. Length of time in counselling can vary from a few sessions to months of work. It very much depends on you and how you feel you are progressing.
What to expect:
Initially we would have an 'assessment session' whereby you would decide if I am the right counsellor for you. In life we feel a connection with some people better than others and a counselling relationship is no different. I would also assess whether I was the most appropriately qualified person to help you with your concerns. At the beginning of this initial session I would discuss confidentiality with you and answer any questions you might have about this and about the way I work.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like further information or would like to make an appointment.
